1/29/18 - WOMEN IN CYBER LAUNCH FORUM
CalCISO convened in Santa Monica to hold the first meeting regarding its Women in Cyber Initiative. The meeting featured opportunities for stakeholders to engage in a variety of new programs, as well as highlighting career profiles of four women in the cybersecurity profession.

First Pitch featured a range of emerging companies in agtech, navigation, safety, utilities, and other autonomous technologies on this occasion in Los Angeles. 2/28/17 - Clean Acres Tour of AltaSea
Clean Acres participants made the most of the opportunity to see this $150 million redevelopment project at the Port of Los Angeles, including its themed marine zones for industry, research, and teaching. See the PHOTO BLOG HERE.
12/14/16 - CLEAN ACRES TOUR OF SEAGATE
Clean Acres stakeholders had a unique opportunity to go inside one of the most advanced buildings in California on December 14th. The Clean Acres tour of Seagate's Fremont Research Center highlighted the latest in building controls, advanced research and development, and flexible lab space.
6/7/16 - OPENIDEO ZIKA CHALLENGE
The first activity of CTC's life sciences initiative was to come together with OpenIDEO over their Zika Challenge. Zika is projected to infect as many as four million people by the end of this year. The brainstorm occurred during the week of BIO2016.
5/23/16 - CBIA LAUNCHES CALIFORNIA TOOL WORKS REPORT
Together with the Kauffman Fellows Program, BACEI, the San Francisco Center for Economic Development, and underwriters including Bayer, Wells Fargo, and GE Ventures, the California Business Incubation Alliance launched California Tool Works with a special mini-conference on acceleration. Panelists included representatives from Bayer, Breakout Labs, Orange Fab, and BACEI, as well as investor and mentor Balaji Gopinath.
5/19/16 - CalCISO CONVENES IN ANAHEIM
CalCISO was represented by staff and through a significant group of members participating in the Information Sharing Standards Org meetings in Anaheim.
5/18/16 - FUTURECAST AT FOX STUDIOS
CTC gave in to The Force and participated in AT&T's FutureCast event at Fox Studios in Century City. The event featured a conversation about media, content creation, and more with Hanno Basse, CTO of 20th Century Fox.
4/1/16 - TECH COUNCILS CONVENE IN NEW BRUNSWICK
The Technology Councils of North America came together for one of their regular, annual meetings during the week of March 28th in Moncton, New Brunswick. Highlights of the meeting included an opening dinner featuring The Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Member of Parliament for Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe, The Hon. Brian Gallant, Premier of New Brunswick, and a keynote by former Prime Minister of Finland, Esko Aho.
3/28/16 - STATE CYBERSECURITY TASK FORCE MEETS IN SACRAMENTO REGION
The California Cybersecurity Task Force convened at the State's Office of Emergency Services to update peers and partners on business, workforce, and resiliency efforts across the state.
3/24/16 - FIRST PITCH: DIGITAL HEALTH FEATURES RISING STARS
The First Pitch series produced by CTC showcased a wide variety of startups in Digital Health on March 24th. The demo day was hosted by Fenwick and West in Mountain View, and sponsored by Foley and Lardner, Lab360, and the Southern California Biomedical Council. In addition to startups, the program featured investors from Life Science Angels to McKesson, and a spotlight on the emerging digital health community in Los Angeles.
2/10/16 - TECH COUNCILS CONVENE WITH COMPTIA FOR 2016 WASHINGTON FLY-IN
Technology councils from across the United States (including CTC) convened in Washington, DC on January 9th and 10th to talk to elected leaders about industry priorities. About 150 council and member company representatives worked through CompTIA and the Technology Councils of North America to hold meetings with members of the House, Senate, and Obama Administration.
11/10/15 - First Pitch: Smart Grid + Smart Buildings at Prospect Silicon Valley
CTC convened First Pitch: Smart Grid + Smart Buildings on November 10th at Prospect Silicon Valley. Attendees heard directly from market leaders and investors including AECOM, Arup, Echelon, GE Ventures, Claremont Creak Ventures, and more. Emerging companies presented on technologies in IoT, building automation, energy efficiency, and more. Presenting companies included CircuitMeter, Reylabs, Rainforest Automation and more.
11/10/15 - CTC CO-HOSTS FEDERAL MARKET OVERVIEW
CTC co-hosted a briefing with the Professional Services Council, Technology Association of Oregon on the Federal procurement market and opportunities for entrepreneurs. This seminar on the intersection of entrepreneurship and government procurement of technology featured experts from Technical Communities, ValueStorm, Seabourne, Mithril Capital, and more.
10/8/15 - CBIA Meets at Revolution
Accelerator and incubator practitioners in the California Business Incubation Alliance (CBIA) were hosted for their regular quarterly meeting by SOS Ventures at their new Revolution SF location on October 8th. The agenda for the meeting included a deep dive on measurement of many possible forms of impact and success. The group also had a tour of Indie Bio, the wet lab biotech accelerator which is part of SOS Ventures' portfolio.
8/13/15 - TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE WITH MOUNTAIN VIEW CHAMBER
CTC was proud to sponsor this Technology Showcase with Chamber of Commerce Mountain View and innovative companies from Google and LinkedIn to Knightscope, Boosted and Curbsidr. Demonstrations and exhibits included Google's driverless car, LinkedIn's Economic Graph, a self-powered skateboard and an electric bike.
8/6/15 - clean acres tour of Exploratorium and new member orientation
CTC combined two events on August 6th at the Exploratorium at Pier 15 in San Francisco. The Clean Acres tour of sustainable features of the Exploratorium highlighted the museum's near-net zero energy impact and Bay water system, among other features. Meanwhile, CTC held a new member orientation and concluded with a reception as part of Exploratorium After Dark.

Participants in the California Business Incubation Alliance (CBIA) met at Flextronics Lab IX in July 2015 and followed their regular meeting with a tour of research and development at Flextronics.
6/25/15 - clean acres tour of levi's stadium
Clean Acres toured the sustainability aspects of Levi Stadium on June 25th, 2015. Special thanks to the San Francisco 49ers and NRG Energy for the inside look at how a great team made a stadium LEED Gold certified.
6/24/15 - first pitch: aerospace + drones at the citrix startup accelerator
First Pitch: Aerospace + Drones convened June 24th, 2015 at the Citrix Startup Accelerator. Startups ranging from agtech to wildfire monitoring to air freight to air traffic control presented, alongside investors and accelerators.
5/15 - first pitch: renewables at bioenergy institute
First Pitch: Renewables convened in May 2015 with the Joint BioEnergy Institute to hear from industry leaders, startups and researchers on the challenges in finding capital and talent, as well as getting novel products to scale.
Annual Washington fly-in of north America technology councils
CTC participated in the annual Washington fly-in of the Technology Councils of North America, alongside 25 sister organizations from Georgia to Massachusetts and Connecticut to Arizona. Delegates met with leaders from FCC, FTC, Congress and more.
4/15 - CBIA Meeting at illumina
Participants in the California Business Incubation Alliance convened at Illumina in April 2015 to discuss best practices across industries in incubation and acceleration. The backdrop of an Alexandria building in Mission Bay added to the biotech themes of the meeting.
9/12/14 - edtech gathering
Edtech leaders gathered September 12, 2014 to discuss challenges ranging from procurement to spreading coding instruction further. Six app companies gave demos, and leaders considered opportunities ranging from more pilot programs to coding challenges. Thanks to BayBio Institute and Silicon Valley Education Foundation for helping make it happen!
4/30/14 - Cbia first meeting at nasa ames research park
Within the California Technology Council, a special interest group has been formed for incubators and accelerators. That group, the California Business Incubation Alliance, met for its first best practice dialogue on April 30th, 2014 at the NASA Ames Research Park.
