Clean Acres Tour: Seagate in Fremont

In 2013, Seagate announced it would establish a new center in Fremont, California.

At the time, Mark Re, Seagate Senior Vice President of R&D, told the San Jose Mercury News that Seagate "will be researching next-generation technologies at this plant." The company was said to be investing up to $200 million in the facility, including acquisition and re-tooling.

“We operate in a nanotechnology environment and we need state-of-the-art infrastructure," Re added.
