VC Snapshot for July

PitchBook released its July snapshot this week. Key indicators included:

  • The global IT sector accounted for 46% of deal flow in the month.
  • About 670 investors participated in at least one financing during the month.
  • Twenty VC funds closed last month, totaling almost $3.5 billion in capital commitments.
  • There were 127 exits during the month, 80% of which were acquisitions.

Other notable exits included several healthcare IPOs, including ProNAi Therapeutics, Neos Therapeutics, and ConforMIS.
