CTC member UC Davis was honored for 2017 Innovation of the Year at the Sacramento Business Journal's 2nd Annual Regional Innovation Awards.
“The program also will recognize University of California, Davis as the 2017 “Innovation of the Year” honoree, spotlighting the university’s role as champion of regional innovation and entrepreneurship. Chancellor Gary S. May accepted the award on behalf of the university and was joined by leaders of the UC Davis administration.
“Our Steering Committee felt unanimously drawn to the work UC Davis is doing to foster innovative companies within our community,” said Melissa Jones, the Stoel Rives California Offices Managing Partner and Innovation Awards Program Co-Chair. “We want to draw attention to these endeavors, including those that are being facilitated and coordinated by Venture Catalyst and its innovation and economic engagement initiatives, the enhanced regional partnerships enabled through AB 2664 funding, the UC Davis Chancellor’s Innovation Awards, and other campus drivers of economic impact.”
