CTC’s Autonomous Transportation Initiative toured the AAA test track for its monthly meeting in February. The AAA test track is on part of the shuttered Concord Naval Weapons Station.

The test bed includes more than 2,000 acres for testing vehicles and related systems of all kinds, including connected and autonomous transportation. There are various road settings, including city blocks, rural areas, bridges and tunnels, and various traffic control systems to allow testing with multiple, common traffic management technologies.

As always, CTC sees more test beds and development centers as among the most significant needs for deep tech entrepreneurs and developers of hardware.

The Autonomous Transportation Initiative meets on the first Friday of every month, sometimes virtually.
