BioCalifornia convened on August 17th in San Francisco to learn about the possibilities and limitations of crowdfunding for life science companies.
Participants learned from Indiegogo and the recently launched platform BioVerge about how to approach crowdfunding, establishing practical expectations, and taking into account all of the outcomes of a crowdfunding campaign.
Clovi, a digital health startup, also presented its experience with its own Indiegogo campaign. The company's findings included several surprise outcomes, including continued impact in the awareness the company has found with users.
Foley and Lardner, sponsor of this series, hosted the meeting at its offices in San Francisco.
