President Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act on November 25th, as Americans prepared for the long Thanksgiving weekend.
Among the sections that will be important to CTC and technology stakeholders are:
- Section 873, simplifying SBIR grantee requirements.
- Section 888, regarding Standards for Procurement of Secure Information Technology and Cyber Security Systems.
- Section 980, regarding Cloud Strategy for the Department of Defense.
- Section 1641, regarding liability protection on cyber incidents.
There were also a number of provisions for small business in defense procurement. Sections 864, 867, 868 in particular provide for simpler rules for participation by small business in defense procurement.
